We walked around and had a look at the
town. Nice one with the Jakar Dzong - The castle of the white
bird. The ledgend tells that when the lamas assembled in 1549 to
select a site for a monastry, a big white bird rose in the air
and settled on a spur of a hill. This was interpreted as an
importantomen, and the hill was chosen as the site for a monastry
and for jakar Dzong. Today the fortress is used as an
administrative center of the valley, and summer residence for
Trongsa monks.
Nice
little town with Jakar Dzong overlooking what is going on |
