When we woke up in the morning we could see that the snow has dropped down the sides of the mountains during the night, and when we reached the highest spot of the road on our way to Ura at 3590m we met the snow. Not so much but enough to enjoy some eastersnow. It was rather wet and I made a very nice drop onto my back while I was out taking pictures.
Ura village is belived to be the home of the earliest inhabitants of Bhutan. The drive to Ura took us through forests and the National Shep Breeding center. We could have had a beautiful view towards Mount Gangkar Puensum (7541m) but that was not possible with all the clouds and partly rain. In the village we visited the temple dedicated to Guru Rimpoche with many paintings of the cycle of his teaching.
We ate our lunch in the library of Lower Ura Secondary School and also looked around to see the classrooms and the dorms which housed up to 35 students. They talked very good english, as in the Bhutanese schoolsystem they use the national language in history and religion, while they use english in all other classes. Even on Bhutanese TV they have daily programs in english.
