Edmonton is the capital of Alberta province with around 1 mill. inhabitants. Today its a modern town with lots of park, which makes the town very green. It is the oldest town in the province and was founded as a fort related to the Hudson Bay company in 1795. Alberta was proclaimed a new province in 1905 which was celebrated greatly in 2005. If you have nothing to do one day, just visit the West Edmonton Mall which still is said to be the biggest in the world, and you will discover that a day is easily spent there.
