The RCMP was founded in 1873 and was
important to keep peace through times. Already in 1876 they kept
an eye on the sioux-cheaf Sitting Bull and his company who seaked
refugee in Saskatchewan for five years before he returned to
america. Since then they have been around the country. RCMP got
their name in 1920. In Regina they have a training center and an
interesting museum which gives impression from the start and up
to day. Well worth a visit.
