A CULTURAL TRAVEL THROUGH IMAGES

CHINA

Turpan - the town way out in the Taklamacan desert, situated up to 154 m (505ft) below sea-level. It would have been impossible to live there if it was not for the enormous Kareeze water systems, bringing water from the surounding mountains, through the desert, under the sand and out to the town. It was very facinating to watch this town. I hope you will enjoy the pictures I present to you.
