When
we arrived at the Gorges Dam Project we went ashore to explore
this enormous construction. The dimentions are huge and
impressive, both the dam that produce electrisity, and the
ship-lock that take sailing wessels up or down the river. There
are one lock in each direction, and the size were huge. In
connection to the dam there is a very nice view point that gives
both the history of the dam and a good view. It's estimated that
the construction will be finished in 2009, and the the water
above the dam will rise to 175 meter above sea level.
