Chile
Easter Island
First stops

We started the first day by driving alongside the long runway of the island. It was constructed by NASA as a reserve landingplace for the Space shuttle, but of course, never used for that purpose. We saw several of the many wild horses on the island before we reached the first stop. The statues were pulled over by the locals many years ago, and they were not reconstruted yet. Interesting first look and the history behind the statues from the local guide. We even saw our first hairtop which were made on an other locations than the statues, but brought to the statues, and put on top of them.

Also on the second stop the statues were still facing down, but we got a deeper introduction of the old history of the island and the first people living there. All the time when we were driving around we got a good look at the very nice landscapes and shores where the waves from the Pacific ocean were rolling into the volcanic shores.
