Santiago de Cuba

Then we continued towards our next goal - Santiage de Cuba. Situated at the east coast of Cuba it have always been an important town. It was the capital of the country from 1514 to 1549. It was it this town Fidel Castro started his revolution on July 26th. 1953 by attacking the Moncada. This failed, but finally Batista was thrown out of power in January 1959. This history was found all over the town, which was quite modern.
