A visit to Cairo without some hours in the Egyptian museum is unthinkable. The collections of items from the very early cultures and upwards is just a must to see to have a better view of the history, and a guided tour is recomended. The highlight of the museum is of course the collection of what was found in the untouched grave of Tutankhamun and I'm sure you will be impressed. The numbers under the pictures indicate when the person ruled (all of them of course BC), and is explained on the larger version. You are not allowed to take camera into the museum, so these pictures are scanned from one of the many collections available in the Museum bookstore, also recomended a visit.
