A CULTURAL TRAVEL THROUGH IMAGES

Egypt - miSr (in Arabic)
Temple of Hatshepsut

Hatshepsut is on of the few female pharaoes in Egypt. She was the daughter of Tuthmosis I and when her brother whom she had married died, their son Tuthmosis III was still young, so she was made regent. When the son become older he went out to fight in the world, so she was a pharaoh for 20 years, which were very prosperous time for Egypt. The temple is situated very nicely against the mountainwalls, and behind the top is the valley of the kings. During the time the tempel has been destroyed, but today it is definately one of the best preserved temples in the area, and worth a visit. I present the general view of the temple here, and some more details on the next page. Hope you will enjoy.
