Around year 590 an
eruption from a volcano covered the mayacity Joya de Cerčn with
abut 3m lava. The city have now been reopened and we can have a
look of the life in the city so many years ago. The site is
called 'The Pompeii of America' It looks like the inhabitants
were able to get away but lot of items used have been recovered.
There is also a small museum where several of the items are on
display. Well worth a visit.
