The first part of the pictures here show the huge Hieroglyph steps, the longest connected carvings in the Mayacountry. The carvings tells the history of the rulers of Copān through 450 years in writing and pictures. In addition there are interesting buildings and statues. The second largest ballfield is here (The largest in Mexico) Around year 700 the number of people had grown to much and the city were not able to feed them. That was the start of the end and the last ruler steped on the throne in 822.
