Basilica of Bom Jesus Church

One of the most visited monuments in Goa. It's dedicated to Bom Jesus, meaning infant Jesus. Construction started 24. november 1594 and was consecrated 15. may 1665. Saint Francis Xavier is kept here in a silver casket. The saint during his missionary work in Asia died in Sancian island 3. december 1554 and his body arrived in Goa 16. march 1554.
