A CULTURAL TRAVEL THROUGH IMAGES

Yogyakarta
Wayang kulit puppet show/Batik

You may have seen it on TV the traditional shadow puppet show where the performance are made by the shadows of puppets while the story is told with company of traditional instruments and song. When I visited the show we were 3 customers and I counted 21 persons behind the scene.

Batik is an art of itself, and I managed to take some pictures of the art in the home of one of the performing artists. Yogyakarta is a center for batik and you can find several places where you can see the art.
