A visit to Solo, or
Surakarta which is the official name is well worth the trip. It
takes you about 1 1/2 hour from Yogyakarta. First place to stop
is the Kraton which is delicious to walk around in. Kraton is the
palace of the emperor. Then you must continue to the
Mangkunegaran palcace, which is the prince's palace. After that
you can explore the rest of the town, depending on your interest.
A stop to watch the temples on the road is also possible, and
well worth the time.
