The area where the temple is siturated is
a really huge garden with several different temples, parks and
lakes. The deers walking around are so tame that they will eat
from your hand. You can easily spend a whole day here. We visited
two temples, where the Todaiji temple was the definately biggest.
The second one is located above this temple, and gives you a
really nice view over the area, including parts of Kyoto. On our
way to the exit gate we passed a nice bell tower too. To get
around we passed several items in the park, and we were lucky,
there were still a lot of nice flowers around.
