Rennesøy - Utstein Kloster (monastry)

After the two under-sea tunnels opened from the mainland, its soo much easier to get to Rennesøy and what things of interest that 'hide' there. The Byfjordtunnel is 5875 m long and 223 m deep, while the Mastrafjordtunel is 4424 m long and 133 m deep. We have been paying toll to pass, but that will end/ended on July 28, 2006 at noon. What most people stop to look at is of course Utstein Koloster at Mosterøy. It was built around 1250, and is today the only remaining monastry remaining from the middleages. King Harald Hårfagre (battle of Hafrsfjord 782) lived on this island.
