By now we knew this part of the road would be mostly desert, but it's interesting how much different one can see and what surprises there can be around the next bend of the road. It was actually a very interesting trip, and here are some odds and ends we got to see on our way. When we arrived in Aricuipa late that day we had travelled more than 1000 km from Lima, and climbed up to about 2500 m above sea.
