A CULTURAL TRAVEL THROUGH IMAGES

Virgin Island - St. Thomas
Charlotte Amalie

St. Thomas was the seventh country we visited on the Caribbean cruise in November 2007 and became the 72nd country I visited. The islands that today is the US Virgin Island have a history that inclueds Denmark/Norway and their participatian of slave trade from Africa in the 1800's. So that is the reason why you can walk on 'Dronningens gade' 'Kronprindsens gade' and other with danish names. At the beginning of 1900 the american started to consider the islands strategical, and this time the Congress gave the 25 million dollars in gold to buy the islands from Denmark. St. Thomas is the largest island, but USVI consist also of two other islands that can be worth a visit.
