A CULTURAL TRAVEL THROUGH IMAGES

St. Martin
Marigot

St. Martin is the name of this part of the divided island, and became the seventh country we visited on the Caribbean cruise in November 2007, and the 72nd country. We stayed a while in the capitol of Marigot and looked around before we continued around the island and back to the dutch part. In St. Martin they use € -euro as their currency, but that was a bit problem, because most people drove to the dutch side to buy their goods, as prices were lower there. For the tourists who came to shop they gave a good bargin: 1€ = 1$, and that was quite different than the official rate of exchange in november 2007. Click here and you will get the dutch side.
