A CULTURAL TRAVEL THROUGH IMAGES

VENEZUELA
Maracay

Maracay is the capital of the Aragua region that are west of Caracas. It was founded in 1701 but did not really expand until Juan Vincente Gòmez arrived in the 1900's. He really made the town expand and become modern. He was president of Venezuela from 1908 until his death in 1935.Today you will find the largest Plaza Bolivar in the whole of Venezuela and the town. Maracay is the entrance to the Henri Pittier National Park, which was founded in 1953 and cover 107800 ha, stretching from lovely beaches in the north and south towards Maracay. I found the life less stressing in Maracay than what you often find in larger cities around the world.
