Uxmal

A visit to the old Uxmal town is well worth a visit. Here you can study the Pyramid of the Magician, an impressive building. Continue and have a look at the Nunnery Quadrangle and the Governor's palace and climb up the steep steps to the Great Pyraminde.

From the top here you will have a beautiful view over the area. There is a saying that the Pyramid of the Magician was build in one night. In this temple they praised the god Chaac, the god of rain. Probably because of the lack of water in the area.
